So can you tell us what these interviews are, what they mean, what will happen with the information that's given in these interviews?

I think it's important to give a little history about this.

So that's what I always try to do when I'm talking to either law enforcement or others.

In the early '70s, police officers from around the world would attend the National Academy at the FBI, and many times they would bring cases with them, unusual homicide cases that were unsolved.

And they'd bring them to the Behavioral Sciences Unit, and they would ask the agents there, like, "Can you help us with this case?" But we looked at these cases and like, well, we don't have any history with cases like this.

We don't know about these offenders.

And that's really what started the story of Mindhunter the show, this initial research.

[pensive music] Considering the research, haven't we learned almost all of those things with other individuals? Is it still worth going in to figure out those things?

you see a lot of serial murders in your case? history of dealing with these individuals, do you see a lot of them changing their plea? I guess,

well, you know, it depends, right? It just depends.

Dennis Rader pled, again, I think, you know, a lot of evidence.

If you go back further in time, less individuals probably have pled, but But also, you know, it depends on the personality of the individual.

Sometimes they're just looking for a forum to, you know, be seen by other people.

It's that sort of being adored by individuals.

You know, look at Luigi Mangione, right? You've got people out there that are in love with him, following him.

Is that control so necessary because of the kind of upbringing, like the bullying, for example, where they had no control over their situation? Well, I think
