Mark O'Connell

Well, Scott, it's gonna be a blast from the past.

We are gonna be joined by author Mark O'Connell, the author of Catching Bullets, who joined us way back in the day to talk about Thunderball.

He also showed up in the Sean Connery, um, round table we did.

Mm-hmm.

I think Mark always comes with the jokes, always comes with the wit and the insight, which is what you get in his books, of course, and I'm a big fan of Catching Bullets, and I will be catching up on Bond, Queer Bond as well before next week.

So we will be talking to the man himself, Mr.

Mark O'Connell, all about his new book and digging into the history of queer spy cinema.

I can't wait, and I hope you are looking forward to it too.

I found it quite difficult to write about him in a way that didn't fully caricature him.

I think Mark O'Connell has written quite well about this and the people he encounters, and he encounters a lot of...

His preppers?

Characters, yeah, all sorts.

She won it in 1991.

And other recipients, because it was 50 years, you've Colin Barrett, The Mayo Man, Mark O'Connell was there.

Last year's winner was Ferdia Lennon.

Brilliant book, Glorious Exploits.
