There's Star Child, and if you're listening to the Pop Quiz Thursday lunchtime, you'll know that Mark King was the lead singer with the band Level 42, and he hails originally from the Isle of Wight, so I hope he's getting good reception tonight to the best of the 80s.

I'm actually, I took a notion a few months back and I started writing funk music.

And so I've got this band that's going to be, I don't know really what to, I don't know if you're how familiar you are, like with the band Level 42 and Mark King.

Like it's sort of like a British based kind of a funk version of Depeche Mode, if you will.

Similar to that, I guess, in a way.

One of the best years of the '80s in my opinion, because it also happened to include [upbeat music] with seven basslines.

Mark King knows how to put these together.

It's Level 42 at 28.

One thing I've been wanting to ask you, Mark, being the keyboard player, is that in Level 42, Mark King's bass lines tend to be quite busy, right? Yeah.

Which is great.

We all love his bass playing.

But my friends and I, we were living in Brisbane at the time.

And we have a good friend who's a bass player.

As soon as he heard Mark King's bass playing, he tried to play everything that was on your albums.

That was how we were introduced to Level 42.

A little trivia here.

Uh, Jonathan, uh, Lear, the actor who played the doctor, his name is Mark King, and you're a big Cheers fan.

He was in two episodes of Cheers.

I don't know if you r- if he had a face that you remembered from Cheers.
