Mark Jones

George Sadie is back with me today because he was Mark Jones's dear friend.

But we have music in common.

And George was from the music industry, not the film industry initially.

I'm in L.A. because...

The only thing I wanted to do was work in the music business.

And that led me to meeting one of my dearest friends in my life was Mark Jones.

So just because I'm in LA here.

And that led me to meeting you, which I appreciate.

And what did this ridiculous, murderous, little green, gold-having, chunky dude mean to the Levy brothers growing up? Because, I mean, he was...

Oh, it gave us so many memories just watching Warwick and watching that film, watching what Mark Jones put on screen.

Because what Leprechaun really is, and I feel like it kind of lost its way later in the series, is that it's horror and comedy.

That is what Leprechaun is.

It's a killer leprechaun running around.

You need to have that balance of horror and comedy.

And Mark Jones said it himself very recently before he passed.

And that's what made those films special.

Like I was talking to a friend of his that he met after I moved back to New York.

But like Mark Jones is his name.

Like Mark and I stayed friends largely because of that affinity that we had for each other.

Like we really were a little bit oil and water as a couple.

And it's not about as much, especially as you get older, that hot chemistry, physical attraction.

I mean, yes, it's the holy grail if you find both, but I do think it's the unicorn, right? So-

How did he make you feel? If you don't, you said the affinity, like what feelings were you feeling? that Mark Jones brought to you?

You know, just that feeling you have when you just really know somebody inside and out and they're your comfort place to land.

And the Lionsgate Limited new extras include Leprechaun Lore, Genesis of a Cult Classic, Designing Mischief and Mayhem, Special Effects and Makeup, Leprechaun First Day on the Set, Behind the Scenes Footage, and Vidmark Entertainment VHS Promo Screener, which is a cool thing to include.

legacy special features include audio commentary with director writer Mark Jones and special effects makeup creator Gabe Z Bartalis audio commentary with actor Warwick Davis Leprechaun Chronicles Part 1 Beginner's Luck documentary behind the scenes footage and trailer as well fascinating movie and I forgot that it also stars the guy from summer school I think So anyway, Leprechaun in a 4K steelbook.

Beautiful.

And this one I've been meaning to talk about for a while.

Yeah.

Mark Jones was his name.

He only died this year, actually, in January.

Sadly.

For a second, I had a double take, but no, obviously not.

Yeah.

Mark Jones had a writing credit on Cujo, which is interesting.

Just that popped out to me.
