Mark Hayes

This is episode 31.

And today I'm delighted to welcome Mark Hayes, an internationally recognised composer, arranger, conductor and concert pianist, whose music has been sung in churches, university and concert halls all around the world.

Mark's written over 2,000 published works, conducted major premieres at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Centre, And we'll explore today how he writes music that is ambitious yet singable, how different musical styles can serve a choir, and what choir directors need to do to help their singers make a piece come alive.

We also talk about the options of choir directors actually writing their own arrangements and how they differ from published pieces.

Please welcome Mark Hayes.

It's so lovely to have you on the show.

Thank you for spending time with me today.

It's right inside.
