John McGinleyHOST

Mm.
Josh McCaffertyHOST
24:15
Mark Fotheringham, uh, had a, a good conversation with Callum McGregor, I think, after the first goal, uh, in terms of pointing out something to him, uh, after Celtic went 1-0 up.
Josh McCaffertyHOST
24:23
So I think they, they worked on a good couple of things, um, over the break, whether it be in terms of with the guys who didn't go on international duty on the training pitch or the guys who had just came back on Friday, showing them a couple of things, uh, going into the game on Sunday.
Josh McCaffertyHOST
24:37
And it paid off.
Josh McCaffertyHOST
25:21
But I didn't notice that personally.
Josh McCaffertyHOST
25:23
Uh, I looked at, um, I was watching the highlights back last night and enjoyed Sean Maloney's wee celebration for the, for the second goal, a wee, a wee jump up and a fist pump.
Josh McCaffertyHOST
25:32
But yeah, him and Foden were, were out, you know, a lot of tactical instructions it looked like, but I didn't notice any signs of tension in the dugout.
Josh McCaffertyHOST
25:39
Um, maybe something to look at on Thursday night.
John McGinleyHOST

Yeah
TinoHOST
30:08
... whether it is Shaun Maloney, Steve McManus, uh, Mark Fotheringham, and certainly the manager.
TinoHOST
30:12
What are they doing at Lennoxtown? What are they being coached? There are clearly things that are being worked on, and, uh, to give them a bit of a pass on other things, it is a new group.
TinoHOST
30:19
10 new players of which Some will feature, Latumba might not, uh, and others.
Jack TraynorHOST
4:16
I don't know if this is the blame, but, like, outside looking in, this Martin O'Neill, Sean Maloney thing where, like, Maloney-
Ray BradshawHOST
4:22
Mark, Mark Fotheringham getting booked every now and then, just shouting.
Jack TraynorHOST
4:24
Yeah.
Jack TraynorHOST
4:25
Like, I don't think they know what's going on.
ChrisGUEST
7:14
I think he's a quality championship defender.
ChrisGUEST
7:17
Um, in fact, I'm, I'm, uh, friends with Mark Fotheringham, who was of course a, a coach at Swansea, and gave Harry Darling a, a real glowing report in terms of his season with you guys.
ChrisGUEST
7:29
Um, I think he scored the most goals as a defender for, for Swansea in the league-
LukeHOST
7:33
Yeah
Tony HaggertyGUEST
12:15
And Martin O'Neill misses that.
Tony HaggertyGUEST
12:18
He hasn't got that with Sean Maloney and Mark Fotheringham, I know he'll probably never get it again, which is why there's been lots of talk about someone else coming in to help him, i.e. possibly Roy Keane and people saying it's maybe not such a bad idea.
Tony HaggertyGUEST
12:35
But I think Mark Lanille badly needs that.
Tony HaggertyGUEST
12:37
He needs a real concierge someday that he really, really trusts.
Tony HaggertyGUEST
12:46
And there was all sorts of wrangling, wasn't it?
Paul John DykesHOST
12:48
Yeah.
Tony HaggertyGUEST
12:49
I don't know if Matt O'Neill maybe asked for a different coaching staff with possibly Roy Keane being one of those people you can only speculate on that.
Tony HaggertyGUEST
12:56
But I'm starting to put two and two together and connect dots as I always do.
Paul John DykesHOST
42:51
Hassan apparently could be injured, um, and he's pulled out the, uh, Egyptian squad.
Paul John DykesHOST
42:57
So from now until the end of this year, it's Martin O'Neill, Sean Maloney, Mark Fotheringham, Steve McManus, and the players they have at their disposal.
Paul John DykesHOST
43:07
Is that good enough? Can they get a tune out of them? Do we need a change within the dugout, Jim? And what would that do to the rest of the season if we were to remove Martin from post?
Jim OrrPANELIST
43:20
It's an easy question there.
NeilHOST
42:31
talking about you don't know what Martin O'Neill's on.
NeilHOST
42:32
sure they tried to get Sean Maloney and Mark Fotheringham aye which by the
RossHOST
42:37
way I'm glad you bring it up because that was another thing I wanted to mention because that was another thing yeah that's another sign that not all is well exactly not all is well because if you've asked Mark Laniel to stay on as manager and yet you're then messing about agreeing a deal to extend his backroom team and keep his backroom team and you're disputing over salaries but they never extended
NeilHOST
42:55
it because they wanted them to do the same job but go back to the salaries that they were on before
Hamish CartonHOST
22:12
Do you not think there's a whole... like sentimental pally act running through the entire club like oh yeah the entire club in terms of as you say like are people like at the club you talk about like Dermot Desmond being this like ruthless businessman who doesn't care who he's going to upset and and I know that he's largely absent I would say although I think he's involved when it when it comes to the the big decisions managers and big transfers um But generally at the club, it just seems to me like people are kind of scared to upset people and it ends up with situations where Callum McGregor's kind of deciding whether he wants to play and it feels like we've got coaches there that shouldn't really be there, but they're kind of there because they've played for Celtic in the past or they were around somewhere, so we'll fit them in here rather than maybe saying maybe the better decision here is... nothing against you but we're going to pay you off and get someone better into the role and even the whole Martin O'Neill thing feeds into that as well like we should be looking at this situation no doubt over the past three games you can add Laskin as well how bad that has all been and I think the board should be taking this out of Martin O'Neill's hands but there is no chance of them doing that as you say John we all know that if Martin O'Neill is going to leave it's going to be his decision but In terms of the coaches, yeah, I mean, I think they all have to go.
Hamish CartonHOST
23:40
If Martin O'Neill does leave, it can't be a case of a new manager coming in and having, you know, Sean Maloney and Mark Fotheringham foisted upon them, Stephen McManus as well.
Hamish CartonHOST
23:53
But again, you just have absolutely no faith.
Hamish CartonHOST
23:56
I just think there's a kind of sentimental element to...
Gordon DalzielHOST
37:07
yeah and I look and I think to myself what is going on there they go into the second half they bring James Forrest on who plays as a number 10 James Forrest is never a number 10 in a million years right and I'm thinking what are these guys doing right and I honestly don't believe that's Martin O'Neill
Gabriel AntoniazziHOST
37:27
I think it's what you think it's the coaches Mark Fotheringham and Sean Mullaney 100% right okay okay I don't want you to say what you think is going to happen or what you would do if you were Celtic's hierarchy.
Gabriel AntoniazziHOST
37:41
What would you do if you were Martin O'Neill? You're away right now.
Gabriel AntoniazziHOST
37:44
You're looking at it.
