Mark Few

Well, it was a good time for us to miss a week, Christian, because it was actually, for the first time, kind of a quiet week.

There haven't been a lot of quiet weeks for Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs this offseason.

It feels like they've been adding players, losing players, having players be eligible, ineligible, all sorts of chaos, losing coaches.

I mean, it's just been nuts.

So he's going to have plenty of tough tests on his schedule to see how he can look against future NBA players defensively.

And I think Mark Few is going to increase the playing time this year.

I mean, he took six and a half shots per night last year.

Like I said, it pretty much increased throughout the course of the year.

Well, it was a good time for us to miss a week, Christian, because it was actually, for the first time, kind of a quiet week.

I mean, it's just been nuts.

Building what they've built is impossible in the current landscape of college basketball, so you might never see it again.

But even in any landscape, it's so impressive to me what Mark Few and Gonzaga were able to build.

And even though they haven't been able to win, which it has gotten to a point where I'm giving in a little bit.

I'm like, they got to win at some point, right? They have to win at some point.

He is terrific at altering shots at the rim, and it's something Gonzaga has dearly missed on this roster since Hol- Holmgren's departure four years ago.

Meanwhile, Huff was in the middle of a breakout season last year, and it ha- hasn't been a huge storyline, uh, this off-season nationally that Huff is back, and the, all reports, Mark Few said this at the Hall of Fame induction a few weeks ago, Huff is healthy.

He's 100%.

In fact, the team posted social media, uh, graphics today, uh, as I'm recording this on Thursday, of Huff working out on the floor doing, doing drills.

There's not a lot of glaring holes on this roster, and when you combine that with the, the experience level that this team has, when you combine that with the just unbelievable scoring and overall balance of that front court in particular, and of course, you know, one of the best coaches to ever do it hanging out on the sideline, and again, we mentioned the schedule and some other kind of aspects of this as well, yeah, this team is national championship caliber.

They can win it all.

They do have the right pieces, the w- the right recipe, uh, the right skill set on both ends of the floor, the right person making the, the moves and the decisions and pulling the strings, uh, to be somebody that can compete with the Dukes and the Illinois and the Virginias and the Floridas, uh, and UConns of the world to potentially get this team the, the coveted, highly coveted, uh, very, very kind of only thing really missing from Mark Few's trophy case at this point is that national championship trophy, and this is absolutely a team capable of doing it.

Now, even if Gonzaga does get this entire roster eligible, they may be in the conversation for the national championship, but that doesn't mean there aren't some concerns.
