But like, if you would, you know, just kind of share, like, what do you look for? You know, how do you evaluate one? What do you come in and try to do? Like, like, how do you how do you look at that whole process?

Yeah.

The disclaimer for me is, you know, I have a lot of contracts.

You've got a lot of real estate people, business people here.

And I think you guys understand like a buying a business is not like buying a piece of real estate.

I know it's by the way, it's a good marketing strategy.

Yeah.

How has the national messaging influenced parents? Is that anything you're able to share with us what you're seeing in your practice?

Yes.

Uh, great question.

Um, yeah, r- right now it's such a difficult time for parents.

I can't stress that enough.

There's so much information, uh, both in the media and online.

Uh, I guess difficult time for all of us as we get so much information, you know, kind of parsing that information to know what is, uh, trustworthy or not trustworthy.

So Dr. Evans, can you tell us a bit about what the difference would be between a young child contracting measles or a young child being vaccinated against measles and how the body would respond?

Yeah

... which is huge, and I get to put this holistic picture together.

So what I do with what I know is I put together a training curriculum for it, and that training curriculum is available for banks and FIs to be able to train new onboarders.

Yeah.

So if you have a new fraud analyst who's maybe doesn't have a background in fraud or never really dealt with a, a particular kind of fraud, I'm able to provide that information and training, say, "Hey, this is what you're gonna see, because I see it every single day, and here are the different aspects of it." So it just gives a totally different look of how fraud or scams happen.

Are there two or three that almost everybody wants that weren't there when they started? It was a surprise once they started looking at the data, what they actually should be looking at.

Yeah.

I mean, again, Jesse, I don't know your percentage wholesale or DTC, almost all my wineries I work with or run, help run as their CEO is really probably 80 to 90% DTC.

So most important.

So I give that perspective, but the most important are, you know, at the end of the day, it's about membership.

And so membership retention rate is probably the And the dynamics behind that, tracked in real time, is for me probably number one.

Determining customer lifetime value is another one.

So Mark, do a lot of the owners you work with just want to go with their gut and their instinct? How do you help them think about data as an underpinning of what they should actually be doing, even at the high-end and luxury level of wine?

So you're Australia, you are-

Yep.

So we basically, our company's called Roke Media, and so we're the largest independent diving media company.

So we have, um, five magazines.

We've got North America, UK, Germany, and German and Australia.

And then we've also got shows in UK and in Australia, and then two in the US 'cause we're also doing Atlantic City next weekend-

You know, find new locations, see shiny new equipment, you know, new training.

What exactly did you see? Just describe it for our listeners who haven't seen the images.

It fits within my hands, so it's not that big.

And at that stage, we knew that GWS was one year away.

I think when we get to 19 teams, there'll be a lot of commentary about what do we do from here because it will feel like for all of the different things with the fixture, not just buys, for all of the things with the fixture, that we're better off having an even number of teams.

And it feels like we're not going to subtract a team.

What is that going to do to the potential to keeping the Gold Coast lads at the Gold Coast Footy Club?

Oh, great question.

I wish we had an hour, right? So there'll be five kids in our team today with Bo Addensall debuting.

Five kids in the team today from Gold Coast have played and come through the Burley Bombers.

Now, that would be like in Melbourne saying that five kids at Hawthorne have come from the Q Rovers or something like that.

Five from the one club.

Now, we're not going to stop our investment in football.

Are you starting to think that King's probably looking like heading back to Victoria considering you changed your contract to Jed?

level of trying to get over, you know, now I don't feel like I have that anymore, but there's other things that I'm still working on with fear.

The interesting correlation I found was that, you know, if you allow fear, then faith is choked back.

You know, if you're operating in fear or intimidation or any other form of fear that you might want to mention, then it's keeping, you know, the Bible says that we walk by faith and not by sight.

Does it say we walk by fear or intimidation? Right.

And so if we're allowing fear, then faith is choked out.

It doesn't mean that it can't come out.

It's that you have to decisively deal with the situation.

Yeah.

There's not that level of anxiety it doesn't feel like from... an outsider's perspective now because of what you've been able to establish like the fact that ben king is hasn't re-signed mark years ago would have been the storylines of on other ones thinking about leaving but it's it's not now it's like well if he wants to leave he might miss out

I think we're a bit more mature.

Yeah.

So until you have an audience, it's really hard, and he is... [laughs] I remember someone, um, at stage door one night saying like, um, "Oh, do you know who my favorite was? Uh, um, the, the funny one." [laughs] And I was like, um, "All of us? Thanks." But, like, he is considered, he's the most likable, the most lovable, and with that comes this responsibility of, like, until you've had an audience...

It's an interesting balance.

Yeah, that's what I found challenging going into it initially, and this is what I sort of offered to, this is what I've said to David, who's learning the role of Chris right now.

Anyone coming into the show I say, like, "It's tricky because you have to, for safety's sake, be in anticipation mode.

You have to be anticipating what's to come, so when certain scenery is about to fall, you have to know that you're standing in the right place.

So then it's trickier to respond authentically to it."

Mm

... you know, where ...

In Toronto and the rest of the province.

And my take is that the rest of the province, if they're not already worried, if they're not worried about the, the takeover of the regions, the, the authoritarian takeover of the regional governments, they should be up in arms right now.

And the other thing that, that I'm not sure whether they're concerned about or not is the changes to the Freedom of Information Act.

This in and of itself is massive, and there is pushback, but not to the extent that we should, we should be.

This is a government that is operating in secrecy.

... you know, she'll be voting age."

So I, I just wanna say, you know, any, um, any highlights that you wanna give for, for people that maybe missed that session of, like, what were the key points and takeaways from that?

I think the first key point is not being afraid to reach out.

Um, I know sometimes there's that fear of, "Oh, if I contact this person, they're not, just not gonna respond." And my response was in a matter of a minute through a third party.

It wasn't even between, directly between Jim and I. Jim reached out to someone who was able to reach out to me, and within a matter of five to 10 minutes, we were in contact with each other.

And so I would say don't be afraid to reach out.

Don't be afraid to use your network.

LinkedIn is a great network.

... versus just an external.

It's an internal thing of where you become...

You understand a, a revelation of who he is versus just, yeah, he- th- he's a principle.

It's a person.

That, that's the shift, I think.

And so many of us, my story, going through high school, hitting rock bottom, same thing.
