Mark Carlson

As you might be aware,

well, John Cooper is now the head coach of the Temple Bay Lightning.

Won a couple cups, a millionaire, famous, so our career paths have somehow diverged somewhat along the line.

But he had a great line and arrived at me many times, and I always quote him on it.

And he's in there and to see that.

And we had hard talks, you know, where he slept through a pregame skate once and didn't get the play.

And the head coach there, Mark Carlson, I'm sure you know, like Mark was there wasn't any gray area.

And like those lessons, you know, and that's what the game is not about signing what Patrick Kane just signed.

And we actually won that year, won the championship.

And that last weekend where we were in the finals, Cedar Rapids head coach, Mark Carlson saw me and I was a 19 year old undrafted, like not committed.

So like not really the sexiest name.

And, you know, there's a lot of flashy names in that league, a lot of logos and such.
