And, and in se- it reminds me of Mark Buehrle.

Mark Buehrle was the same way.

Uh, you never know.

Hey, we let Jermaine Dye call pitches for, uh, Mark Buehrle from right field sometimes, so I don't know if you're out there at third base like, "Curveball, curveball, fastball, fastball"-

And so I'm trying to think of, like, all the guys who I, I remember distinctly being like, yeah, when this guy struggles, it's usually early, but if you let him settle, we're, we're-- He's just, you're gonna, he's gonna throw eight pitch innings all the time.

Uh, Mark Buehrle was a guy like that too.

You had to get to him early, 'cause if he just got going, you were like, "It's gonna be eight.

It was gonna be eight in an hour, and you won't have any hits." And you're like, "Why, why aren't we hitting Mark Buehrle?" Um, a- and his velocity would also just kind of step down.

But again, it was probably mo- more of that than, than f- than fatigue.

But then there's guys who throw really, really hard, and that's their thing, and it, it's opposite.

Guess what he did? He showed up every day.

I played with Mark Buehrle, Paul Konerko, Torii Hunter.

Name them.

I played with all these guys, right? These are all some of the best players of all time.

Uh, I forgot about Duane Wise.

Duane Wise, to keep Mark Buehrle's perfect game, jumped up and caught it and then dropped it and caught it again in his bare hand.

I mean, there were some...

It's really fun to watch back at the best catches of all time.

You know, that, that's a, that's a cool, cool thing.

Like, a- AJ Pierzynski was at the game last night, and he was my first catcher in the big leagues, and he was like, "Man, I'm just, I'm just glad you made it quick." And I said, you know, "Yeah, and that's something I learned from Mark Buehrle," and I'm hoping, you know, maybe, maybe in 10 years from now there's a guy that learns that from me, but I learned it from him, and then you got, you know, you got 30 or 40 years down the line and, and Mark Buehrle's still, you know, f- uh, you know, a name getting thrown around because of, you know, something I did that something he taught me and something, you know, someone taught him before.

So, uh, this game is, it can be special that way.

And, um, you know, again, like I said, it's a certain brotherhood that you just try to kinda keep, keep connected, but once those lights flick on, it's, it's go time.

Red Sox would be cool too, but would be cool to see Chris Sale hoist another, you know, World Series trophy.

It is one of those things kind of like hockey, like the more guys you talk to from the sport, the more you kind of understand their culture and just kind of admire it because of the players themselves.

Like, you talked about Mark Buehrle, right?

Yeah, yep.

He got paid.

Mark Buehrle didn't get paid.
