Okay, let me see if I can come back strong.

Before becoming X, Darius Rucker and Mark Bryan performed cover songs around the University of South Carolina as the Wolf Brothers.

Later joined by Dan Dean Felber, they became X.

Their 1994 debut album, Cracked Rear View initially sold modestly, but six months after its release, an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, where Letterman told viewers, if you don't have this album, there's something wrong with you, helped propel it to number one.

Well- The only one, the only exciting time I ever had was in Portland, Oregon, where I am right now, where I grew up.

Uh, I was at a Hootie & the Blowfish concert, and I was on stage with Darius and Sony and Mark Bryan, all the guys.

And somebody jumped up on stage and tried to run over to the microphone and start singing with Darius.

And I had a guitar on my shoulder, and I was playing.
