I'm just like, all right, well, this was fun, but I'm clearly not going to keep doing this.

I've played a lot of the phone Mario Kart.

But yeah, that just, that all just dries up.

It's like most games that are, that are that way.

i just think they they there were people i i was reading online i i browsed certain subreddits and obviously they show me certain ones for other games that i'm not really aware of obviously and uh i was reading the mario kart tour one and people were so fucking upset and it it's shutting down yeah it's shutting down because it's shutting down yeah And they're like, I put so much time into this and it's going away.

So it wouldn't be too surprising for me.

uh next up um speaking of video games i could say that about everything but anyway there is the obvious end of mario kart tour that is now upon us i think at the end of this month the 30th of september mario kart tour will be taken offline there's currently no plans to have an offline version of the game that you can play so i think the game will just be over, essentially, at this point.

Nintendo is celebrating the end of this game, however, with a final anniversary tour that's happening right now, as I understand.

So if you are interested in playing that, you've got about a week, basically, until you no longer can play Mario Kart Tour.

I'm really glad that the Booster Course Pass added a lot of these tracks into Mario Kart 8, because that feels a little bit like an offline version of Mario Kart Tour, and it kind of was a nice little bridge between Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart World, where I feel like Mario Kart World is so much of those slalom courses now, where it's not a circuit where every single lap is the same.

I was talking to a friend.

I was like, Mario Kart World is really a game where they just made every single level Mount Wario, essentially.

They made a whole game out of Mount Wario.

But the march to Ocarina continues.

Mario Kart Tour is running its final anniversary tour before it shuts down on the 29th.

So if you loved the mobile Mario Kart game, you better go do it while you still can.

wow pass how old this game is what was it two years ago no tour came in a long time ago

my big issue with with nintendo mobile is that they felt that they needed to make games to match like people playing with one finger it's like can you just make a real game and put it on the phone

They're not capable.

It's like, what are you doing? I don't want to say nobody because I think Mario Kart Tour actually had tens of millions of people played it.

So people enjoyed it.

Which, as I said, I'm pretty sure that's the only new Dr. Mario game in like 20 years.

Like, Mario Kart Tour, which is still going to the point that there are tracks from it in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, right?

They're shutting it down now.

I hope, I hope, have they pulled all the tracks over now?

Uh, uh, it's not like it's perfect.

We're losing Mario Kart Tour in a few weeks, so that element is still there, at least in the mobile realm.

But yeah, Nintendo, by and large, they've gotten better.

I say they a- as if they're just like a, a kooky gang of friends, but Nintendo as an entity has gotten better about not only preservation, but embracing their full history, their full messy history, and I say this with my Virtual Boy facsimile e- erected next to me.

So yeah, whenever they use Donkey Kong, the modern Donkey Kong, the Donkey Kong since Donkey Kong Country, to represent Donkey Kong Junior, I'm like, [clapping] "Yeah.

Yeah, that's right.

That's right." Uh, I briefly, briefly wondered if we were going to get some, like, Super Mario Kart costumes or outfits or skins to the characters, like in Mario Kart Tour we got the, like, retro 16-bit sprites of Mario and Donkey Kong Junior as characters, but-

Now that I would like-

I was thinking about it, right? Since we're kind of talking about Mario Kart World now.

This is also the month that Mario Kart Tour shuts down, right? Yes.

And so I wonder if this is the time that you get a lot more of the costumes.

Because a lot of the costumes in World are from Mario Kart Tour.

Correct, correct.

And so I wonder if now that that game is shutting down, this is like the month that they're like, hey, adding two more knockout tours because we announced eight of them are coming.

Oh, boy.

We're going to have the end of Mario Kart Tour to ruminate on.
