Let's go to Aaron for a 60 second synopsis.

Waterworld is what happens when someone looks at Mad Max and says, what if we got rid of all the roads and replaced them with expensive water? The movie stars Kevin Costner as a mysterious mutant drifter known only as the Mariner.

Because apparently everyone in the future agreed that first names were a luxury.

The polar ice caps have melted, the world is covered in water, and humanity has somehow responded by building floating junkyards instead of, you know, just trying to find land.

Okay.

Yeah.

So Kevin Costner is the Mariner.

Uh, Dennis Hopper stars as Deacon.

So the film is directed by Kevin Reynolds on a script by Peter Rader and David Tuohy.

It's produced by Kevin Costner, which is important because Kevin Costner is the lead in the film as the Mariner.

It also stars one of my favorite actors of all time, Dennis Hopper.

Also stars Mickey Blue Eyes' own Jeanne Triplehorn, Tina Majorino, and Michael Jeter, who at one point in his life got eaten by velociraptors in Jurassic Park 3.

and I would also say as well and this is a thing that you know for me is a big not a big no no but I'm just not the biggest fan primarily because of the way that they're written in a film with children but Tina Majorino plays the child at the center of all of it because she has a tattoo on her back which shows where dry land is.

She is great as well in allowing Kevin Costner to be humanized as a character and showing a side of his character that is more interesting in terms of where the film could go and what the film could be doing.

And I think that Tina Majorino as Enola, I think, also really works in the film's favor because, again, if you think about a film like Fistful of Dollars or For a Few Dollars More or The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, I mean, again, we have a similar character here with the Mariner.

Like, he's just, you know, he's very put upon.
