Marietta

A prior healer-patient relationship had become, in Blymeier's mind, a relationship between persecutor and victim.

The final identification was attributed to a woman near Marietta, Pennsylvania, whose name is one of the case's persistent problems.

Contemporary newspapers called her Emma Knopp.

Modern scholars often call her Emma Knapp.

A near-contemporary trial reconstruction calls her Mrs. Knoll.

The familiar name Nellie Knoll belongs securely to later retellings, not to a single consistent court-era identity.

Rather than pretending the sources agree, it's more accurate to call her the Marietta Practitioner, Blymeier consulted.

Blymeier testified that she used a dollar bill in a simple visual procedure.

Drummer, he used to come in, and, you know, we became friends, and he used to take lessons and ask me things.

And he said, uh, you know, "So-and-so does recording up at a studio, uh, uh, up in, uh, Marietta, Pennsylvania, and, um, he needs, you know, somebody to go up." So that summer in 1980, I was going in, and I knew the, I knew the bass, I knew the bass player.

He had remembered me from when I was with another band.

I met the piano player.

And if you're lucky, you get to come back to where you originated from.

[clock ticking] Our next account comes from Marietta, Pennsylvania, and the poster describes a house disappearing between one day and the next.

This is their story.

"I grew up in a small town in Marietta, Pennsylvania.

It's a quiet little town, although not so much anymore, but always felt a little bit off.

However, growing up, there was always this nice house that sat atop the hill of a field, and the neighborhood kids and I always used to play football there.

Okay.

And he's so paranoid about all of this, he crosses the Susquehanna River into Marietta, Pennsylvania, to see a woman called the River Witch.

Her name was Emma Knopp.

Now, it's K-N-O-P-P, which looks like Knopp to me.

Yeah.

But she's also known as Nellie Knoll.

Now, because she lives so close to the Susquehanna River in Marietta, again, they called her the River Witch.

But I think from all the digging I did, she was more of a pow-wower than she was a witch.

The song is performed by Lancaster, PA-based Celtic rock band and friends of mine, the Ogham Stones.

The music for this call to action is a live cover of The Wild Rover, as performed by the Ogham Stones at McCleary's Pub in Marietta, Pennsylvania, back in 2014.

So he's right and he's wrong.

Speaking of Triple H, this comes from Nathan in Marietta, Pennsylvania.

I was wondering about Triple H's career.

So many people talk about how he's only been so successful because he married into the McMahon family.

Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.

Nathan from Marietta, Pennsylvania.

I know you hold Bret Hart in high regard, and rightfully so, but I put Kurt Angle above him.

Kurt didn't grow up in the business like Bret did.
