Mariel Buckley

Not bad for a Calgary kid with a guitar.

Here is Mariel Buckley.

This is called Shooting at the Moon, Country Goldmine.

I've played in motel bars, dingy lounges with dirty floors.

Yeah.

And the fact that I get to be a part of the process of listening to new Canadian music every single week and seeing what's out there, like that to me, like hearing all of the incredible music from across this country, like all of it every week made me want to make music again because I was so inspired by artists like Mariel Buckley, you know, Charlotte Kornfield, like all these people who are, you know, Sky Wallace, who I know you've interviewed.

Yeah.

And Mariel's a bud.

So yeah, I call her a pal now.

I just think she's brilliant.

I love, like, honestly, I'm more fired up talking about Mariel Buckley right now than I am about my stuff.

Not that I am not enthusiastic about it.
