And we have here a recording which was made of Maria Sabina, who was one of the most famous women healers among the Mazatec.

And this is a recording of her chanting.

She explains how the plant gives access to medicine and medical knowledge in her own culture.

the mushroom, it's ayahuasca, it's his products of the natural environment, these intelligent plant entities.

But my vision for the podcast is to interview inspirational people.

Someone I'm very inspired by is Maria Sabina.

And if you don't know who she is, I was literally scrolling Pinterest one day and there was this picture of an apartment and there was a book and it had a spiral on it.

And on the bottom it said Maria Sabina and I love spirals.

I fucking follow spirals because I think it just creates expansion and growth.

So I then go from Pinterest to Google and I'm like, who the fuck is Maria Sabina? And it pops up that she's the woman that introduced magic mushrooms to the world.

And she did these guided plant medicine ceremonies with famous people like the Beatles and like all these things.

Like what a fucking inspiration for me because I am so passionate about using substance in an intentional way.

Now, around the world, mushrooms still carry this etymological leg- legacy.

They are in many cultures called the food of gods, the food of angels, uh, the little saints as Maria Sabina.

In Jamaica [laughs] it was so funny to me when I found out what they called mushrooms in Jamaica.

They call them, uh, either a duppy umbrella, right, which is ghost umbrella or spirit umbrella.

It talks about when the King of Kings, the lineage of David comes, that he will, um, reveal the hidden manna.

Okay? So Haile Selassie, the King of Kings, 225th generation between Solomon and David, the King of Zion, uh, is on the cover of Time magazine in 1930 as the Man of the Year.

Some 15 years later, Maria Sabina is on the cover of Life magazine revealing the hidden manna that she was told it was time to give to the world.

So I have a very strong belief that these mushrooms and the, the revelation of this manna and these mushrooms is a sacred food that is being given to us so that we can clear the darkness out of our personal conscious and the collective consciousness.

You know what? I'm gonna bring this back to psychedelics.

So Maria Sabina is credited with bringing mushrooms to the West.
