Maria Maria

Let's move on to music.

The number one song, Maria Maria with s- by Santana featuring The Product G; Breathe, Faith Hill; and The Thong Song by Sisqó.

So out of that top 100, Jessica, what was your X-Files pick or shipper song pick?

So I went with one I've already went with before, but I'm gonna go with it again, 'cause how can you not, and that is number 38, Marc Anthony, I Need to Know.

And

Maria Maria.

both reached number one.

The album topped the charts in 11 countries and ultimately, Santana won as many Grammys for that album as Michael Jackson did at the 1984 Grammys for his album Thriller.

Long before marrying Carlos Santana, Cindy Blackmon Santana was an accomplished jazz drummer influenced by the legendary Tony Williams.

Millions, however, first noticed her playing with Lenny Kravitz.

That's Cindy behind the drum kit in the video for his 1993 hit, Are You Gonna Go My Way? The song Maria Maria wasn't merely one of Santana's biggest hits.

In 2008, Carlos helped launch a chain of Mexican restaurants bearing the song's name.

Yeah.

Maria,

Maria.

Is it Maria, Maria, where he talks about Santana at the beginning? I didn't have it because it kind of isn't really part of the song.

But, yeah.

No, well done.

[laughs] Uh, funny thing is, I don't particularly enjoy that album too much.

I just really like Smooth and Maria Maria also, but just Smooth.

But do you like Rob Thomas outside of that album?

I do, yeah.

[guitar playing] So into the late '90s, that.

That's Maria Maria by Santana, featuring the product G&B, who provided the vocals.

So very much an acceptable answer there if you said the product G&B, but Santana, the lead artist listed, and Maria Maria is the name of that song.

And, uh, number five was this.

[guitar playing] And it goes on, but it's Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears for Fears, isn't it? Tears for Fears, the artist.
