Yeah, I mean, when you leave the movie, you're definitely not an upbeat ending to this movie.

Even the end credits keep it going when they go to New York City and you see Nick Fury and Maria Hill turn to ash.

Here we are, always keeping it light in the MCU.

Yeah, I mentioned it briefly, but Samuel L. Jackson and Maria Hill, you know, they basically...

Did you hear about the fighting or whatever? And that's it.

They're in New York.

Okay, I forgot Maria Hill was in the room.

Obviously, she can't do anything.

But any of the actual superhuman people and Tony could take Cap.

That was actually the last thing that she did the same year in 2005 before being cast on How I Met Your Mother.

And in 2012, when she was still on How I Met Your Mother, she was cast in The Avengers and has played Maria Hill for over a decade and was in so many Marvelverse projects.

And in 2023...

She was in the show Secret Invasion, which, spoilers for Secret Invasion, jump forward 30 seconds if you don't want any.

Okay.

So on Earth, we have Nick Fury, of course, Samuel L. Jackson, Maria Hill, Phil Coulson, Eric Selvig from Thor, Clint Barton, Hawkeye.

They're all called to the Joint Dark Energy Mission Facility in the Mojave Desert.

And these are the Avengers.

Totally a real name.

Colby.

She's playing Maria Hill, who is a major second in command in S.H.I.E.L.D. A little bit of controversy when Colby Smulders was cast because this is another situation where The character, it wasn't fully explained at the time, I think, but the character is drawn in a certain way to have slightly more tan, perhaps more ethnic features.

So it's a little ambiguous.

We got to keep that idea of Nick Fury's dream alive.

That what Coulson and Nick Fury and Maria Hill really wanted on that helicarrier, that dream has to live on in some group of people.

Fury's fall so we got Fury Nick Fury becomes suspicious after he can't decrypt the information Natasha received he goes to Alexander Pierce Pierce tells him to stand down but Fury doesn't and on his way to meet Maria Hill Fury is attacked this is one of the first moments where the movie completely changes gears we go from like gear one or maybe gear two to like gear five or six there's no such thing as six but you get what I mean Because suddenly this isn't an Avengers, I don't know why that's in there.

This is a conspiracy thriller.

But, you know, they had to start somewhere.

But, I mean, Marie Hill and Coulson and all that stuff.

And I've been burdened with glorious purpose and all that.

Hulk chasing Widow around is awesome.
