Margot Anand

I'm in the process of becoming a certified Skydancing Tantra teacher and am deep into a several-year international teacher training program.

So I am going to be at least certified by a respected institute that was founded by Margot Anand, who in 1990 wrote the book, The Art of Sexual Ecstasy, which I'm sure is going to come up a lot tonight.

I also have a background in philosophy.

I have a BA and MA in philosophy, and I have a long history in in grassroots activism, social activism, worked with the Buffalo, worked in anti-war movement, worked in the global justice movement as well.

Where do you want to go next?

Well, my tradition is skydancing tantra.

And I mentioned Margot Anand, who wrote The Art of Sexual Ecstasy.

And so I want to give a sense of how a theorist, also a practitioner, Margo's 82 years old and still practicing.

So, you know, if you're hearing about the yoni for the first time, it's a truly beautiful concept, and when I first learned about it, it was about 11 years ago when I first, um, separated from my ex-husband.

And I took the book with me that I had just purchased called The Art of Sexual Ecstasy by Margo Anand.

I took that book out of the marital home to go and live with my parents during the period of separation.

And I knew something deeply and instinctively within myself, and that was that sex is special and, as a woman, the sexual experience is deeply meaningful and that there had to be more than kind of what we see on the media and what we experience.

And, you know, there was ju- there was more to sex, and I knew it.

I just didn't know how or what.

So in reading Margo Anand's book, I learned this definition of the yoni, that in tantra, the yoni is the space for your female parts, all of them together, and that it's an energetic space.

So in saying that, it's greater than the sum of the parts.
