WBUR CEO Margaret Lowe says she will step down in June.

WBUR CEO Margaret Lowe is announcing that she will retire next June.

Her career has spanned decades, working her way up from an overnight production assistant at NPR to lead one of the largest public media organizations.

Margaret told Tiziana Dearing why she's stepping down now.

We tell ourselves stories in order to live.

And clearly the world has gotten more complicated, and we're getting news in every which way, and yet certain things, certain values, certain sense of purpose persist, and for us and for you after I'm gone, they always will.

WBUR CEO Margaret Lowe has announced that she is stepping down from the role in June of 2027, and a search, uh, has begun for her replacement.
