Hochul's office did not respond to a question about the alleged remark during Tuesday's debate.

Hochul suggested that the corrections officers went on strike to distract from pending charges facing corrections officers in the December 10th, 2024 beating death of Robert Brooks, 43. in Marcy Correctional Facility.

Another inmate, Messiah Notby, was beaten to death on March 1st, 2025 by officers at Mid-State Correctional Facility.

Multiple officers were convicted in both cases.

He was supposed to be released this year, year of our Lord, 2026.

But on December 9th, 2024, old Robert Brooks was beaten to death by corrections officers in Marcy Correctional Facility in New York.

It was memorable because body cam footage showed officers punching, kicking him, and grabbing him by the neck.

Wow, wild.

And it was that same day Mr. Brooks was being transferred from Mohawk Correctional Facility to Marcy Correctional Facility.

He dies the next day at 43 years old.
