ScottHOST
It is obviously a 2009 slasher film and it served as the reboot to the franchise and is the 12th film in the Friday the 13th franchise.
ScottHOST
It is directed by Marcus Nispel, stars Jared Padalecki and Danielle Pannenbaker, co-stars Aaron Yu, Amanda Rigetti, Travis Van Winkle and Derek Mears.
ScottHOST
A budget of $19 million made $92.7 million.

Michael ThompsonHOST

Michael ThompsonHOST
Director Marcus Nispel's second remake of a classic horror film.
Michael ThompsonHOST
A resume of only four features.
Joe FrancazioHOST
And some musical videos and things
Christian WhiteHOST
... that's like Marcus Nispel in a way as well-
Joe FrancazioHOST
Yeah
Christian WhiteHOST
... or like Mark Romanek or, or who, who was it that directed the, uh, Nightmare on Elm Street, uh, Platinum Dunes? I can't remember.
Drew DouglasHOST
It's the newest thing we've ever gotten, and it's made the best.
Drew DouglasHOST
Like, Marcus Nispel made a good-looking movie.
Drew DouglasHOST
I could, again, argue this is not a great one compared to some of the other ones, but there's so much going for it that I, I...
Drew DouglasHOST
I don't know, man.
TroyHOST
Um, and I totally forgot for this one.
TroyHOST
We And wasn't it directed by Marcus Nispel or something?
BradHOST
It was.
BradHOST
I think it was, yeah.
JustinHOST
Uh, bag head Jason, amazing.
JustinHOST
I, I love that, the fact that when they did the remake, Marcus Nispel gave us both sack head Jason for a little bit, which was terrifying, and of course the iconic hockey mask.
JustinHOST
And I still do think overall the hockey mask is more iconic, but the bag is, is scary.
JustinHOST
Even if they ripped off The Town That Dreaded Sundown, who gives a shit? It's still iconic as well.
Heath AndersonHOST
It's shot like a Michael Bay film.
Drew WatzkeHOST
Tell me if you've ever heard of Marcus Nispel.
Heath AndersonHOST
Uh, no, I haven't heard of Marcus Nispel.
Drew WatzkeHOST
Me neither, but he's the director.
Heath AndersonHOST
But honestly, this makes more sense that it wasn't Michael Bay directly that directed it.
31 MINS LATER
Heath AndersonHOST
But instead, you've got, uh, you know, Leatherface origins-
Drew WatzkeHOST
[laughs] Okay
Heath AndersonHOST
... and all this stuff, and a, and a 2003 remake by Marcus Nispel, directed by Michael Bay.
Tim McKayHOST
I
Zack CherryHOST
think that Marcus Nispel did a much better job with the Friday the 13th.
Zack CherryHOST
remake just in terms of like you just like how it was shot and and and everything but here it was just it was the editing it was just like a little too frenetic for what it was like it would have for like a moment like that which is sort of like the suspense where she's hiding in the meat and it's supposed to be gross i think that it could have been a little bit more still for for just a little bit but
Tim McKayHOST
but otherwise
David ScanduraHOST
And I think that the...
David ScanduraHOST
Marcus Nispel's 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake is one of the best films in the franchise.
David ScanduraHOST
I think it is a good movie.
David ScanduraHOST
I don't think it's great-
David ScanduraHOST
I mean-
Justice BurkettHOST
...
Justice BurkettHOST
Marcus Nispel's, uh-
David ScanduraHOST
Yeah
