Anyways, they were all, it was, I'm not a, like a, like a fan boy or anything, but like, it's kind of, kind of cool to just shoot the shit with these people.

And I brought Adam with me, my skip from my curling team.

What was, just to explain all this, because I never saw anything kind of fall so flat.

Mark Kennedy has the reputation of being the best technical player, uh, in Canada, if not in the world.

It's been months since an Olympic poke kick-started the biggest curling controversy in years.

A heated argument in Cortina over Canadian curler Mark Kennedy's pointer finger still reverberates.

And as a new curling season gets underway, officials around the world move to definitively ban the technique.

And you can have like a perfect throw and miss a shot.

And, you know, I look like you look at the top players in the game, like, you know, Mark Kennedy or Brad Gushue or Rachel Holman, like they throw the rock perfect, like every time pretty much, but they have games where they score 75% or something, but you know, their, their skills are there.

So tracking percentages is, Game to game, I don't know how much, like great players have bad percentages games and bad players have better percentages and they probably deserve some games, but you can use them to kind of ballpark where a player is at, but game to game, I wouldn't hold too much weight in them.

So it's really like a sample size thing where like individual per shot score, probably doesn't tell you that much because you're right.

Meanwhile, curling news today.

Ready for curling season? Remember the controversy at the Olympics with Mark Kennedy and the double touch and it became a meme all over the world? During the Olympics, did he touch, double touch the stone? Should that have been burnt? And the Swedes were all ticked off about it? Well, Curling Canada...

is now adopting the World Curling Rulebook.

So they are going to fully align itself with the World Curling Federation's rulebook.

And double-touch? Done.

It would have been out.

That rock, Mark Kennedy, it would have been gone at the Olympics.

Or did he touch it? I'm not quite sure.

and considered a touched moving stone, which results in the stone being removed from play.

We'll just call this the Kennedy rule.

Okay, but who's making the call on this? Again, where does it say who's making the call? Is it an umpire? Is it a player? I don't know.

Honestly, okay, I was just watching a documentary on Netflix before we started recording, and it was, what was it called? The Pastor's Wife? The Death of the Pastor's Wife?

Okay, but then when I was getting that set up, I noticed that there was a documentary on Netflix called, about the break dancing woman from Australia.

Okay, and I'm going, Are you kidding me? They've made that into a documentary.

And guess what first came to my mind is, oh my god, in two years, is there going to be a documentary about Mark Kennedy and the touchstone? And holy crap.

Well, that'd be good for curling.

How does that all suss out looking at rules and the biggest difficulty of a Mark Kennedy can think this and another, you know, Brad Jacobs could think the absolute opposite and down from there.

Yeah, I mean, look, I think the one thing that we are clear of and one thing that we've got to get better at is the language in the rulebook as well.

You know, the rulebook needs to be written effectively in international English.
