I couldn't really think of a better product that i would want to take if i were to be working construction yeah i feel like nothing the extra pick me up the extra caffeine from the matcha and the caffeine extract i think it just does the job and yeah i've always been the biggest fan of daybreak i think it's always been my favorite blend since day one so i think that's definitely doing any kind of physical labor daybreak would be the way to go for sure And even if you're caffeine sensitive, there's not so much caffeine in there to where you would get jittery like from an energy drink.

Depending on the person.
Victor ChungHOST

Cam CookseyHOST

And it's funny because last night, knowing full well that I was going to have to do this today, I was listening to Zach and Jonathan Drake talk about different types of renovations and...
Cam CookseyHOST
7:27
And I don't know, labor, manual labor.
Cam CookseyHOST
7:30
And I was just quiet because I was just like, yeah, I'm trying not to think about that.
Cam CookseyHOST
7:33
But after doing it today, it was I get why they're so excited.
Cam CookseyHOST
9:10
Um, just to to kind of go step by step and and not skip any steps you can't skip steps when you're doing that it was pretty cool not gonna lie i uh i was dreading it to start but in the end it was it was very enjoyable so thank you to my uncle uh mark that's upstairs he was helping me with everything and showing me the ropes and then my cousin desmond who came over to to help me take a bathtub up that was the last thing i did guys was i took a big ass bathtub out We put it outside.
Cam CookseyHOST
9:40
That was a lot of work.
Cam CookseyHOST

Cam CookseyHOST
9:52
Yeah.
Stephen Graham JonesGUEST

And so as soon as I got my PhD, I came back to West Texas and signed on to a warehouse to do manual labor 'cause manual labor was what I was born for, I figured, you know?
V.E. SchwabHOST

Sure.
Stephen Graham JonesGUEST

And, um, but then I hurt my back, and that turned into a desk job at a library, and that turned into a professor job, and so now I'm an endowed chair, and it's all work- it's all working out.
Garrison LovelyGUEST
42:33
You talk about this in the book.
Garrison LovelyGUEST
42:35
Um, but, you know, what about manual labor? What about things like that? You know, how are these AI companies thinking about obsolescence when it comes to those types of jobs? Yeah.
Garrison LovelyGUEST
42:45
I mean, they're starting with the highest margin jobs in the world.
Garrison LovelyGUEST
42:48
So they're trying to automate AI research itself, and AI researchers are being paid like superstar soccer players, um, in some cases more.
Garrison LovelyGUEST
43:35
And even if you don't have those, you can have, uh, if you basically h- have artificial general intelligence, AI systems that can direct people with like augmented reality glasses where you have like human robots, you know, where you can basically remove any kind of like skill required to do certain tasks if you have good enough multimodal AI systems.
Garrison LovelyGUEST
43:57
And there's already some examples of, of this, um, like package pickers in like warehouses for, uh, deliveries have been using AR glasses in this way for a long time.
Garrison LovelyGUEST
44:08
Um, and so yeah, I, I think putting our hopes in manual labor retaining its, its economic power, um, doesn't seem like a, a great strategy, especially given how much of the economy could be automated in principle.
Garrison LovelyGUEST
44:21
And so many of the things that are most important for, uh, projecting power in the world, for instance, like science and technology development, it's, you know, some of that requires physical world experiments.
