And so I had the opportunity to see some amazing acts filming performances for The Tube, including McCartney, including Patti LaBelle, Pet Shop Boy, Mantronics.

And it was very diverse in terms of genre.

And just an incredible thing to be able to be in a small studio audience every week, seeing these acts up close.

And, um, copy, you know, just copy shit.

You're hearing 808, like Mantronics or fucking whatever, like loose ends, like 808 drum, you know, the 808 drum machine sounds were kind of happening at that point.

Yeah.

Hard castle.

So he gave me all his hip hop records.

I started off on Mantronix, T La Rock, Stetsasonic.

That's what I started off with.

[laughs]

Yeah.

And, uh, Steve had already gotten, uh, Mantronix a deal and, um, managed a, an actor also.

I just can't remember his name.

He's a very popular actor.

This is the first record I want to sample.

And I had Mantronics, Cold Getting Dumb.

Well, Mantronics produced Just Ice, Cold Getting Dumb.

I had a couple of Kevin Sorensen records and I had Reach Out.

And it took a long time to get right because it deserves respect.

The album didn't sell gold.

They're fine for what they are, and I enjoy some of these songs, but Chris, come on, dude.
