As a colourist, I have a process that involves multiple layers of colour.

a comparable example i think if you're a makeup artist and you put on a red lip and you don't like the red lip you wipe it off and you put a different color on and people see that as your creative process and nobody's got a problem with that as a colorist if you want to make a change with your toner or the roots not quite long enough or you want to actually get rid of the root all together or in fact you know the highlights weren't right we're going to do it as a block color whatever i'd love people to just respect that as the process it doesn't mean that it's gone wrong And really, I love the idea of, at the end of my career, being able to look back and say, I helped blaze a trail for colourists as a creative division in this industry that is respected and valued in the same way that hair styling, makeup, clothes styling, and now manicure more recently.

Manicure was in the same boat until recently.

I'd like to see that.
