Mandy Martin

That's a very long time to live with that intrigue about Alice's work.

Even in 2000, when you visited the Channel Country with your friend, the artist Mandy Martin, you didn't know then that this book would materialise.

So how did you sit with Alice? Alice's work, you know, for 50 years nearly.

And at what point, what was the catalyst for it to become the book that it now is?

And you visit that landscape for the first time in?

In the year 2000.

And we're invited there by the artist Mandy Martin, who I think Canberrans know and remember well.

Mandy was involved with, as was her husband Guy for Tarding, involved with fighting for the Cooper against an irrigation development in the mid-1990s.
