And you mentioned, for example, Condor.

Condor is better known for his work with Kitchener where they did a survey up in – what was then British Mandate Palestine.

And in fact, their survey marked, we still have the boundary between modern-day Lebanon and modern-day Israel, is where Condor finished his survey.

But even though he's working as a surveyor for the rest of his life in England in the survey office, he is publishing his thoughts on the Amarna letters.

I thought that was a very fascinating point.

As you said, the generation that produced this scholarship, particularly the last generation, lives through immense transformation in the relationship between Jews and Arabs in Mandate Palestine.

and the work they did required a certain level of intimacy, a certain level of appreciation for their Arab neighbors.

It often entailed a certain amount of hybridity culturally, but they're living through a period of extreme sort of segregationist logic in which these two nations are completely separate.

So the first British governor of Jerusalem described the creation of the Israeli state as creating a little loyal Jewish ulster amongst a sea of hostile pan-Arabism.

So explicitly, the actors in this context are seeing the partition happening in British-Mandate Palestine and seeing it in a similar light to what they saw partitioning in Ireland in terms of the creation of Northern Ireland and Ulster.

So it's not surprising that the Irish public and indeed Irish political actors as well will begin to draw on that analogy themselves to understand the conflict.

Therapy's biggest impact doesn't show up in some dramatic breakthrough.

So basically, The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem, it's what-- It's my first role.

Um, and the beautiful thing about it is that it's a period piece, like it's a period story about the '30s and the '40s in Jerusalem during the British mandate, the Ottoman Empire, and the story's being told through a Sephardic Jewish family.

And for me, I'm Sephardic as well, and it felt so good to have, um, a story about Sephardic Jewish family and tradition and about that time period.

And, you know, there aren't many shows that you can actually learn history from that are very accessible to the audience.

It's like I saw the most disturbing post from someone who was clearly very anti-Israel, but they're trying to get more people on board.

And just think what they were trying to say when they made this post of Haj Amin al-Husseini, the spiritual leader of the Arabs in British Mandate Palestine, with Hitler.

And the quote was like, that's something that the pro-Israel side often show.

There was an anti-Israel guy and he said, even Hitler was with the Palestinians.

Another series of Arab attacks swept through the country from 1936 to 1939.

Out of approximately four hundred fifteen Jews killed across all of Mandatory Palestine during that three-year period, around twenty were killed in Jaffa and its immediate borderlands.

Once again, thousands of Jews fled Jaffa due to murder, arson, property crimes, harassment, and threats by Arabs.

Temporary shelters went up once again for the refugees in Tel Aviv, this time in schools, synagogues, government buildings, and industrial facilities.
