Retentions we've got to shout out for Retentions

I was thinking about this only the other day because I've had very fortunate environments that I've been part of that have really shaped, I guess, who I am and what I see.

So I started in the northwest really at Manchester Thunder or Northern Thunder or what, you know, [laughs] Northwest Netball, whichever environment you wanna say really up there.

And, you know, I was with Tracey Neville, Karen Gregg, and some really experienced people in the northwest that really shaped the way I, I looked and saw things.

But most importantly, as boring as it sounds, I got drummed in about process and really process-driven about selection and because it means so much to any athlete, regardless of age and their support network, you have to really try and get it right and what it looks and feels like, and it should be a positive experience and not a negative one and showing, you know, the level of where any player wants to aspire to be.

Oh my goodness, he is absolutely unbelievable to watch.

Is that neither of these teams have to worry about international windows? So provided the clubs can get the players across for pre-season and hit pre-season hard without too much injury or issue, they'll have an advantage.

They obviously start further back, but they can maybe catch up some of that time where your London Pulse, Manchester Thunder, etc.

have to deal with absent players, you know, and they can't do pre-season in a way that they would like to.

So there's that advantage for them, I think, that could retrace that.

So Jamaica, again, I guess Aitken George is out of the league, but Fowler and Emmett is back in playing with Shanice Bedford.

How they manage the court time there will be a bit like Manchester Thunder.

That is a question of culture.

So then I guess landing in the UK, I suppose like Sophie Fawns as a player, you would have known through Swift.

Was there a sense of watching her come over and do really well with Manchester Thunder? Did that help in the decision making to basically leave Oz and come up this way? Yeah, definitely.
