Mama's Broke

And then before that, Marine Eyes from her new record, Hidden Hour, out on her label, Cloud Collecting, and the track Little House.

That brought us back to Nova Scotia's Mamas Broke duo of Amy Lou Keeler and Lisa Maria.

We heard the track No Great Reunion from their record Reunion, out on Ford Music Europe.

In the background, Hush-a-Hush-a, a band from Toronto.

Work you up just to wear you down So lay that burden in the ground Cause the road is heavy and the journey's long So put it in an old time song Singing, walking down that old rail line You keep your burden, I'll take my time It's me and my love on the other side Where the daisies glue through the railroad tie I don't wanna go to heaven, just wanna get up off the ground Nope, I don't wanna go to heaven, just wanna get up off the ground

that was a duo called mama's broke from halifax nova scotia and you missed an excellent show last night at the aviary with those two playing and a local sam stefan opening up you are listening to the road less traveled on cfcw i am your host james murdoch we're playing off the beaten path country music well she took country music and took it off the beaten path and pointed it straight down the 20-lane super freeway.

We lost Dolly Parton last week, but her music lives on.

This is a recording of her with the First Ladies of Bluegrass and a song called Bound to Ride.

I'd say it's their best thing they've put out since the crack sky for anyone who's a fan.

Uh, it's different obviously there's only one guitar player now but yeah really good uh ceremony they put out a new album for me it was a little bit underwhelming uh as i i really liked the last thing they put out in 2017 their last full length and the one they just put out in august like it's fine but it's not wasn't anything to write home about um And also this month, sorry, last month, there's a band from here, Nova Scotia, called Mamas Broke.

And they are like a folk duo.

It's just Nice harmonies, fiddle, banjo, acoustic guitar.
