Now, it did find some malicious traffic in the programs folders and the app data folders, local app data, and the Google Chrome profile folders as well.

So I removed all these malicious items with Malwarebytes, and I also ran an ADW cleaner scan as well.

Then I checked the system for any other software that was out of whack, and I reviewed the machine for any other additional signs of compromise.

But there is an important note here.

The problem with this, what we're talking about now, is there are real security concerns.

There's a company called Malwarebytes, and they're security researchers.

And they have said that hackable vulnerabilities in these TVs could let malicious actors, crooks basically, leverage these built-in tools to listen in on households and even spy on them.

So the recommendation is if you have a recent LG OLED model, you should disconnect it from the internet or smash it up or read a book.

Like it, it's kinda another business and I'm not sure how to reach them out to talk about [laughs] is it profitable or not.

not.It's, it's a very gray area too, because I remember, I think it was Malwarebytes that got sued by one of the adware companies 'cause they, like, flagged their adware as, like, malware or un- And it was like, well, the user clicked through the EULA and said, "I agree to install this plugin that will, you know, show me pop-ups." So the adware companies are like, "Legally we're not doing anything wrong here." And so it's this really weird gray area, and now I think they're just labeled potentially unwanted products, PUPs.

Um, but again, this was, like, something that was, I think, discussed a lot more, a lot more prevalent five plus years ago, where it might still be around, uh, to Kseniia's point, but, you know, I think stealers and those kind of things are, uh, at least in my opinion, impacting everyday users more dramatically as well.

Because that's the other thing, adware, it's annoying and it, yeah, it can be problematic and should be removed and deleted and prevented, but oh, you get hit by a stealer, like, man, that's can be super gnarly.

Or even customer support portals giving you access to an incorrect portal that you're going to now log in with your credentials so that the criminal can get access to those.

We hear about scams like every single day at Malwarebytes, right? We try and increasingly catch these things, right? Because cybercrime online, as you said, what started as malware, you know, delivering viruses to people, now really is like there's decoy websites for every single company.

There's decoy emails.

There's phishing emails.

Then we take a look at one climate scientist's calculations of just how much AI costs.
