The

experienced guys that they've picked up, as in like Pinder coming back and then Sean Bruce, and then you add in like your Browns and even like Malik Lewis, they're guys that you can rely on.
DerryGUEST
17:10
So I think that it's going to be a little bit more consistent this year.
HughsyHOST
17:13
Yeah, absolutely.
Tracy MaloneHOST
39:00
Solid game.
Tracy MaloneHOST
39:01
Malique Lewis, 15 points, six from 10 from the field.
Tracy MaloneHOST
39:05
He had no turnovers.
Tracy MaloneHOST
39:07
We had Luke Paul.
Toby CrestaniHOST
44:17
Now, Smith looked actually really good off the bench, so I'm surprised they didn't run with it again.
Toby CrestaniHOST
44:22
I assume that this was done because Parker Jackson-Cartwright was cooking them, and they just needed, by putting Bolden out there instead of a guard, you allow for someone like Malik Lewis, who we know is defensive-minded, to be able to switch onto Parker Jackson-Cartwright because he's gonna keep hunting those two guards who are there for offense and not there for defense.
Toby CrestaniHOST
44:43
He had 21 points at halftime, Parker Jackson-Cartwright.
Toby CrestaniHOST
44:46
Now, sticking with Cairns though, Keanu Pinder shot two from nine this game, and Zach Mingey shot seven for 29-- for, sorry, seven for 21 and one from 11 from three.
Raphael BarlowHOST
45:36
Maybe he goes to college and gets exposed.
Raphael BarlowHOST
45:38
Do you count Malik Lewis? Huh?
James BarloweHOST
45:41
Malik Lewis?
Raphael BarlowHOST
45:43
Malik Lewis...
Raphael BarlowHOST

Yeah.
Finn JamesHOST

mojave king's shooting numbers are insane i think he's shooting 50 from the field uh defensively he looks unreal he's a six foot five an athletic wing who can basically do it all right now and it's a joy to watch and it's a joy to have in your team
Will TremainHOST

yeah and um if we quickly look at cans in this one they they are going to really struggle this season i think unless they can find a good one over melbourne though they did but i mean we know about when you're relying this much on keanu pinder and jack mcveigh is your only viable like threats um i think it's it's a worry like you look at jack mcveigh in this game against us 16 points led their team in scoring but he was 7 for 21 and 1 for 11 from 3 so when he has nights like that you need someone else to be able to step up you got Keanu Pinder there as well but like their imports Jalen Brown and Malik Lewis I have not been impressed by them at all this season I think Jalen Brown has really not done anything he had one good game I can't remember who it was against but especially against us as your starting point guard you've got to be like getting some some dimes like finding your teammates I think he had one assist in this game yeah it's just unacceptable like like we said with Cole Anthony having that one assist um you just as a starting point guard especially as an import you've got to be averaging like four or five assists a game this week
Finn JamesHOST
38:20
yeah I mean we don't want to throw too much at it Ken's they did get that win over Melbourne and Jalen Brown actually did play quite good in that game as well.
Finn JamesHOST
38:26
And Jalen Galloway is still yet to return from injury.
Woody VHOST

And just going back to Cairns, really good to get contributions across the board.
Woody VHOST
56:53
Rainn Smith, Keanu Pinder, Malik Lewis, Jalen Brown.
Woody VHOST

They look really, really good.
Woody VHOST

And Jonah Bolden, showing something.
Courtney WardHOST
11:29
Jalen Brown's had his moments.
Courtney WardHOST
11:30
Malik Lewis has had some really, really nice moments.
Courtney WardHOST
11:33
What is it? You think Keanu, him diving, Jack having him come around for the three, there should be more space and easier shots for Jack McVay, but it's not clicking, is it?
Brad RosenGUEST
11:43
No, because they haven't been together enough.
Brad RosenGUEST
12:04
They need time on the court.
Brad RosenGUEST
12:05
They need to play.
Brad RosenGUEST
12:06
Big shout out to Malik Lewis because I think he's playing fantastic.
Brad RosenGUEST
12:09
What a great story that is to be able to be, you know, the next star goes over, gets drafted, comes back and now a quality import in our league.

Also, then you had Max McKinnon, the son of Sam McKinnon, which I'm probably-- he's probably gonna get sick of hearing, but, um, young fella playing for Brisbane goes for thirty-one points and twelve rebounds with some very audacious shots and, and you know, big baskets and an important win over Illawarra.
Boti NagyGUEST

We've got Malik Lewis, who's come back to us now as an import at Cairns after a couple of years as a next star at Phoenix, and, uh, he's gone and got, um, seven blocks against Adelaide, which is the most in more than a decade by anybody.
Boti NagyGUEST
1:14
And the last two guys that got, uh, eight blocks were, uh, close to seven foot, and Malik's, uh, six foot seven, six foot six, so pretty good.
Boti NagyGUEST
1:22
I, I, I see those sort of things, they jump out at me more so than, um, results specifically at this stage 'cause it's a bit too early to draw conclusions when pretty much there's hardly a side that's really putting its best team on the floor at the moment due to injuries or, or imports haven't arrived or imports been set, et cetera.

I put the heat on Adam Ford last week to do better with what he's got, and Wednesday night was a good start.
Toby CrestaniHOST
36:56
Yeah, so you spoke about last week Adam Ford was saying, oh, Malik Lewis has got to be, like, he kind of was like, Malik Lewis isn't doing enough.
Toby CrestaniHOST
37:05
And we kind of came on here and said, well, he's there for defensive purposes.
Toby CrestaniHOST
37:09
But this week he had a double-double.
