Malcolm Merlyn

Wow.

uh obviously quentin had previously arrested him uh mathis uh escaped prison during the earthquake that was caused by malcolm merlin uh and he's resumed obviously uh his way of murdering girls and kind of uh making them uh into dolls and making them forever pretty in his mind like i said he's called the doll maker uh he uh uses a like this kind of like white liquid to uh I want to say it like it like coats their esophagus and suffocates them with this liquid or whatever.

And it kind of, you know, makes them real stiff and look very doll like, of course.

Like I said, Quinn kind of has a personal connection to this case.

the

undertaking.

She's kind of the scapegoat since they don't have Malcolm Merlin in custody or anything like that.

So the death penalty is thrown out as a possibility for Moira in this situation.

Yeah.

Just the reveal of Malcolm Merlin was good.

But then after they give us the Malcolm Merlin reveal, we still have another mystery.

And so the fact they gave us a mystery we've been holding out on for half a year and then threw another mystery at us at the end of it.

That's right.

Oh, God.

The Dark Archer is using the people Oliver cares about the most to taunt him into becoming a murderer.

Maggie, what did you think about Smallville introducing Oliver's terrifying dark archer mentor?

Not at all what I thought it would be.

Who would it be, actually? Who would it be now? I thought it was going to be Oliver again, somehow taken over by steroids, but it wasn't.

It's Vordigan.

Nobody calls him Count.

The Dark Archer, who trained him years ago, and he's returned to force Oliver to complete the brutal path he once walked away from.

Okay.

So we got, uh, Merlyn, artist Scott McDaniel.

I dig that.

I really dig that.

And this makes Oliver kind of wince a little bit because that means they're going to be going at it, you know, with, you know, for the next little while, because that's that seems to be Laurel's new mission.

Because she seemingly blames him for Tommy's death because somehow in the In the events after the earthquake happened, it got revealed that he was killed in the shootout between Malcolm and Oliver somehow, or the hood.

So she blames the both of them.

Is that

oliver even as oliver as the hood and as oliver has kind of tried to talk him out of it a couple of different times but roy just wants to be a part and help and everybody's trying to convince him not to be so um you you got to feel bad for him at a certain point um but yeah china white being back was interesting uh obviously uh her you know group with the triads obviously are the ones that are stealing this medication for you know drug market and stuff all that kind of stuff so uh bronze tiger a very imposing uh baddie for for this one obviously he has the uh kind of external wolverine claws that i don't think his come out of his uh i don't think his no they're just come out of his hand but they're like brass

knuckles that have claws and stuff

yes yes um but yeah he was a pretty imposing figure obviously he uh oliver gets him with an arrow and it doesn't really seem to phase him all that much so But yeah, he's a pretty good bad for this episode because he kind of actually puts up a good fight against Oliver, which not many other than Malcolm Merlin were really able to do that in the first season.

A couple other quick things I noticed, too, is like when at the very beginning in the DA's office, when Oliver is like Oliver grabs Roy to like kind of lecture him, you notice like Roy like immediately looks like, holy shit, this guy's strong.

And still set us up for another like lanterns kind of ended this one story arc, but set us up for a whole new mystery to come.

We found out spoilers that Malcolm Merlyn was the person under the mask, but Malcolm Merlyn isn't even Malcolm Merlyn.

He's part of kind of like a sacred order.

And I have questions about that.
