Makkari

Arishem the Judge, as he'll be known by the end of this movie, with a specific mission to protect humanity from the Deviants, monstrous predators that have been sent to consume intelligent life across the universe.

The Ten Eternals are Ajak, the team leader and healer, Icarus, the powerful flying warrior, Cersei, who can manipulate matter and transform substances, Thena, a warrior who can create weapons from cosmic energy, Gilgamesh, the team's strongest member, Kingo, who fires cosmic energy projectiles, is quite a character, Makkari, the universe's fastest being, Drigg, who can control minds, and Phastos, a technological genius, and Sprite, who can create extremely convincing illusions despite being physically unable to age.

Celestials aren't new to this universe, of course.

We saw Eson the Searcher in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy using the Power Stone, and nowhere the severed head is ahead of another Celestial.

He was the one who killed Ajak after she decided that humanity is more important than their mission.

And then he then manipulated the remaining Eternals into helping him prepare for the emergence.

Cersei, Fastos, Kingo, Thena, and Makkari are like, and Druig are like, uh-uh.

Five billion human lives are more important than the birth of one celestial.

The big news came in July at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, where Feige announced a release date of November 6th, 2020, and confirmed Jolie would be playing Thena, Nanjiani would play Kingo, Madden was Ikaris, and Hayek would be playing the leader of the Eternals, Ajak.

He also announced Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, and Lia McHugh as Sprite.

And Zendaya as Michi.

Phastos would notably be the first openly gay MCU character, a fact viewers in countries all around the world would be totally normal about.

There they're attacked again by the Deviants and their leader, Kro, the same one who killed Ajak and absorbed her powers.

In the battle, Kro manages to kill Gilgamesh and absorb his powers too, becoming more humanoid with each Eternal he incorporates.

Next, the Eternals reunite with the speedster Makkari, played by Lauren Ridloff, and the inventor Phastos, who has an idea how to stop the emergence.

Phastos will construct a device that unites the Eternals' minds and channel all their power into Druig, who will use his mind control to make the waking Tiamut go back to sleep.

Issue 17, if folks remember that, is the race.

Makkari was in a race against Captain Marvel, the Wizard, Speed Demon, Super Saber, Black Racer, and Quicksilver to see who was the fastest one alive.

And the spoiler is that it was basically none of them because someone else came into the race.

So it was a fun issue that ended up with Makkari and Quasar hugging it out.

And Quasar comforting Makkari and saying that he's still good enough, basically.

Oh, they're my
