Maker's Mark

You mix about a fourth a cup of the syrup, a fourth a cup of whiskey or bourbon.

I use Maker's Mark.

Any kind of mustard works, but brown's the best.

And they, as always, are going to be throwing a cool party over there where they are doing, let me just see if I can remember it right.

I have posters from this event in my apartment and people will see them and say, that sounds like one of those specials that's so good it's dangerous.

But I think going to the Bourbon Trail, this is my advice for people that are going because I've gone so many times.

There's tons of different cool distilleries like there's Heaven's Hill and Willett and Bardstown and Maker's Mark and Four Roses and Buffalo Trace, Buffalo Trace.

There's so many that are awesome.

Don't do a tour on all of them.

I mean, cheap bourbons do exist, though.

Sure.

Like, you could spend your whole time and go to a place like Jim Beam and Maker's Mark and get, like, the 44s and, like, the traditional Maker's Mark and get all that and not spend a lot.

But the high-end bourbon that you're going to be attracted to after doing these tours is going to be pretty expensive.

Now, it wasn't, you know, fresh homemade bourbon that we did.

I'm a big fan of Maker's Mark.

You know, we can do a separate episode on the whys behind that, their heritage, their tradition, the assembly process, all that.

I just fell in love with it.

you know, that you can pour bourbon into and let it sit.

You know, I was so proud of it.

I poured some Maker's Mark in there and I let it sit for about six months.

And then I was at work talking to John and he was like, dude, I think you're only supposed to let it sit in there for a few weeks.

This is one of the areas where I will give the nod to the Mexican Outfitter.

We had a very attentive bartender who knew what he was doing, and you could get anything from Hendrick's Gin to Booker's or Maker's Mark to single malt scotch.

And they had all the mixers plus an unending supply of tequila and beer.

The bartender spoke more English than anyone we encountered on a regular basis.
