Is that like the marker of like when it kind of became legit in, you know, like, like people really paid attention in Shenzhen to the maker movement? I mean, I, I remember there was like a bunch of...

I remember a, a friend or two that went, went to that and, and they were, they were very impressed by just the level of entrepreneurship and like people wanting to build companies and stuff like that.

I- is that about the timeframe when it all kinda launched?

Uh, we launched the Maker Faire Shenzhen in, uh, 2012, so it has been 10 years.

Well, we, we'll probably be there-

Did it feel like maybe the builders at Dev Day were less being held hostage by Apple?

Yes, I mean, I compared it in an article that I wrote for Club Mac Stories to the sort of atmosphere at a Maker Faire that I went to.

Okay, so more like tinker culture.

Tinker culture.

Yeah, okay, okay.

And so I went to a Maker Faire maybe 20 years ago when 3D printers were very new and the Raspberry Pi was still a very exciting thing that was allowing people to build hardware in ways that wasn't possible by hobbyists before.

And it had that kind of feel to me where it was like, now I can build things and I can build whatever I want because I just have access to the subscriptions and the APIs.

And so it had that kind of free-for-all feel to it.

which is a lot of, you know, it'll be anything from software development to catching up on tickets that have maybe not been answered quickly enough to, you know, who knows.

I was doing posters for our table at Maker Faire this weekend.

So it's kind of all over the place.

Yeah, sometimes you have to pull your crayons out, right, and start helping color in all the dots.
