this is ryan and welcome back to the angel scrolls reverse song podcast episode 34. in this episode i'm featuring a special collection the best of bread song reversals that i've recently transcribed some of you may have already heard because i posted a few of these on youtube recently but i honestly don't think they received the recognition they deserved these reversals are among the clearest most meaningful and most spiritually significant ones i've done so far so today i'm going to review them in detail The songs I chose for this episode are Baby, I Want You, Everything I Own, If, Make It With You, and Take Me Now.

But while it sounds like something that must have been in their repertoire since the beginning, according to the producer, they didn't know the song at all before he suggested it.

Surprising enough in itself, but what's more surprising in retrospect is that the producer who suggested they record that hard R&B song was David Gates, who is now best known for being the leader of the '70s soft rock band Bread, writing, producing, singing, and playing all the instruments except drums on the group's number one hit, Make It with You, among other hits.

Reports differ on how much Gates contributed to the Magic Band's initial sessions, other than playing keyboards on Diddy Wa Diddy.

David Gates and Bread were number one with Make It With You in the US and we made it to number seven in Australia in and 1981, yes, Duran Duran had their first top ten hit in the UK.

Didn't make it far past top ten in Australia, Girls on Film.

But in 1987, Madonna went to number one in the US with Who's That Girl? And in 2003, an Elvis Presley impersonator called Kel Bjornstad...
