Main Street Cinema

We hung on to them.

They have one now at the Main Street Cinema.

And so technically, that's free, except that you have to have paid for the Magic Band Plus.

Yes.

Mm.

So within those pathways, they just have random little, like, vignettes or a, like, a curtain you walk behind, kind of like the Main Street Cinema, and there's, like, an animatronic waving, and it's a boat delivering the Statue of Liberty to New York Harbor.

Oh.

And you're like, "Oh, that's kinda cool." Like, not-

And that was really just connecting a couple of dots, it seems like, so that you can scan into either park when you have a reservation.

Or maybe it's using the... you know, using the magic bands to get a card from and make a little memory when you're going to Disneyland during the 70th and now still at Main Street Cinema.

But what it does is it really is supposed to be in its Best form is it empowers the artist to tell the story that connects with guests in the way they want to do it, as opposed to being like, eh, sorry, great idea, we can't do that yet.

And I think what we're going to see moving forward with this is even more stories being told, even more characters coming into the parks, whether it's, you know, droids in Galaxy's Edge or, you know...

You know, modern Mickey Mouse, the 3M, I guess.

Since the beginning of the Disneyland Resort's 70th celebration in 2025, the Main Street Cinema was home to so much that we share a tribute to the Sherman Brothers.

Now that the celebration is over, the Main Street Cinema, which recently underwent a brief refurbishment, has reopened, but not with the classic Mickey shorts many have come to know.

over the years no and love over the years uh mickey mouse still be found here but rather in the form of the modern mickey mouse shorts created by paul rudish or ruddish i'm not sure i've never heard of her rudish this is the same version of mickey that features elsewhere in the park at mickey and minnie's runaway railway Artwork on the exterior of the cinema is similar to what came before, but now features all eras of Mickey, including the modern version.

Banners on the side also feature a thoroughly modern Mickey.

Gone are the various anniversary food and merchandise offerings, including the key to Disneyland experience.

And lastly, gone is that lovely tribute to the Sherman Brothers that was set up in the Main Street Cinema.

I was in the Main Street Cinema a little over a week ago.

It's now back to playing Mickey Mouse cartoons.

Not the classic cartoons that might have been released during the Main Street period, but more recent ones, the ones overseen by Paul Ruddish.

Yeah.

Also open again is the Main Street Cinema.

This one, a little polarizing.

This one's a little controversial.

I have some really great memories hanging in a hotel room at Disney World or Disneyland and watching those with my kiddos.

Mm-hmm.

But do they belong in the Main Street Cinema? Sure.

I don't know.

The Main Street Cinema has reopened at Disneyland following a refurbishment, now showing modern Mickey Mouse cartoons on all six screens.

On the Disneyland Railroad, Primeval World has also reopened after more than two months of refurbishment, with restored dinosaur figures and updated lighting.
