The Internet WayBack Machine doesn't function the way it did not that long ago, so I found a screenshot from a Gmail address I no longer use of the Mailchimp which we no longer use, delivering the email to my inbox on September 23rd, 2014.

And bless my heart, the introduction is like, "Everybody writes a summer reading book roundup," which is funny.

Everyone was like, no, we've been in the same situation as you.

We've tried MailerLite, MailChimp, Yatpo, whatever else I was on.

They're like, this is the one you want to be on because of the segmentation, because of all the cool things that you can do, all these flows and systems you can create.

And I was like, systems, okay.

And there's a lot of big platforms out there.

MailChimp is one of the most popular for marketing emails and different emails.

And that's totally fine.

If you have a CRM offer or something like that, totally fine as well.

Yeah,

if you're not sending emails on the regular, if you're just going to collect the email addresses and let them sit in Kit or MailerLite or MailChimp or whatever, Flowdesk, whatever you're using, and you don't have a regular process for communicating with your list, this isn't for you right now.

Right.

But if you are sent, even if it's a weekly list, you know, our weekly email that you're sending out, yeah, this can be a good way just as long as you're continually getting in front of them and, you know, taking advantage of it.

It's certainly not hurtful in terms of like having something that I feel good about on social media.

And then the other thing was I was paying, you know, a shit ton of money to MailChimp to have a mailing list.

I've had a mailing list since 1996.

Like, through all versions of the internet.

And it ended up, you know, five years ago I was at MailChimp and it was a really huge mailing list that not many people were opening.

And so I was paying a lot of money a month.

I think like $150 maybe a month on MailChimp for a 15,000 person mailing list that nobody was opening.

And I was like, this is ridiculous.

No more

MailChimp, no more this, no more that.

And we'd be bringing it

on.

Well, the Trezor on Ledger one recently, that was a third-party newsletter provider.

So that could have been MailChimp or something.

And all of that is gone.

And so...
