Mail merge

It was because somebody, some human, was doing a really annoying task, sorting checks or whatever else, and they realized, oh, a computer could do that, right? And then they realized, you know, we realized in the '70s, '80s, Dorothy did, and then, you know, you know, who's been doing it now for th- 40 years, that actually computers can also automate re- repeating tasks, right? Which is why we got Word...

Well, we don't have Mail Merge anymore, but we have computers to save us time, right? And i- in a way, everything's automation, and now agents are automating workflows.

We've been here before, robotic process automation.

It's, you're doing process mining.

[laughs] Um, and I think very specialized AI can make decisions, but you have to work and train a model and explain those decisions, and that's a lot more investment and time.

Uh, other automation tools like, um, macros and weirdly enough, Mail Merge.

Like, I have used Mail Merge so much in my life.

[laughs] And it's like if you focus on, like, I'm not trying to automate the entire process, I'm only trying to automate this one part of this task, then that's where you can get a lot of those time savings.
