Mahakali

each name represents one particular characteristic.

Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, Mahasaraswati, these are just the names.

The Shakti is the same, but when it's directed towards removing the darkness from our life, removing the obstacles, removing the cloud of ignorance.

It's named as Mahakali.

Mahalakshmi, when the darkness is removed, that radiance, the light, the shine appears automatically.

That's Mahalakshmi.

The tradition divides it into three parts, called charitras, or acts.

The first act is the short story of Madhu and Kaitabha, and the goddess there is honored as Mahakali.

The middle act, chapters two to four, is the battle with Mahishasura, and she is honored as Mahalakshmi.

The last act, chapters five to 13, is the war with two more demon brothers, Shumbha and Nishumbha, and she is honored as Mahasarasvati.
