I grabbed my Maglite and went down to where my girlfriend told me to stop so I knew where to look for prints.

Just before that point, I nearly tripped on a track and was amazed at how deep it was.

It was at least 10 inches down.

I yelled for my girlfriend to come down to see what I was looking at.

She reluctantly came down, and when she got close, she immediately said, "Oh my God." The tracks were at least 16 inches long and 10 inches wide.

I used my backup mini Maglite and held it inside the hole to see what I could see.

I was excited by what I saw.

The wall around the hole was about three to five inches thick.

My light source of choice is a battery-operated helmet-mounted light known as a TAG light.

Safe caving calls for at least two sources of backup lighting.

For my backup lighting, I have a mini Maglite mounted on my helmet and another helmet-mounted light in my pack, which I always carry with me.

I also have glow sticks that I carry with me.
