In fact, self-working magic has taken me to places like Washington DC, where I was earlier, uh doing magic based with maths maths and magic conference i did a whole lecture on maths based magic at the blackpool magic convention uh this year in february 2026 and floored loads of people with it my book my head hurts um mind the math magic sky's the limit beyond limits new horizons they're all 90% of them are just math based self working magic and magicians absolutely love it and it means that it's accessible to anybody really at any skill level that's what I really like about it But I think self-working doesn't necessarily mean self-performing.

The other thing is I think when I do this, like the magic lectures and I'm demonstrating at places like Blackpool Magic Convention and other conventions, is that I can keep that eye contact with people as well and I don't need to worry about looking at my hands or where my hands are positioned with regard to like double lifts and elmsleys and you know trying to misdirect them.

uh this year in February 2026 where I was also lecturing as well and it did fantastic um check that out it's got literally you know I can't even remember how many effects I think it's got like 30 odd effects in there like some of them are ones I just do use on stage just for close-up all sorts of stuff in there it's amazing um so yeah so this is um going to be the podcast going forward I'm going to be talking about where ideas come from what happens when you've got an idea and We're going to be talking about games, creativity, inventing things, building businesses, getting things wrong I think is probably going to be one of my strong points as well.
