Maggie Stiefvater

well-loved copies.

Yeah, you know what? Maggie Stiefvater signed my rinky-dink paperback of Scorpio races.

I signed paperbacks of Cruel Prince series.

Yeah, I saw Meg Cabot

I think as long as she's feeling something- Bonus points if the reader can decode and realize she's either not labeling it at all or she's labeling it wrong.

Um, there's, in The Raven Cycle by Maggie, uh, Stiefvater.

Stiefvater.

Stiefvater, damn it.

[laughs]

Stiefvater.

I was thinking of her-

I remember this from The Office

That's a good one.

Maggie Stiefvater's The Raven Cycle trilogy.

Is it trilogy? No, there are four books in there, I think.

Is that fantasy? Or is it more...

Um, but it does need to kick up later rather than first thing.

Maggie Stiefvater has a really...

I don't know if she's still teaching it, but she has a whole class that's really incredible.

Yes.

And so if you're fighting against that, like, fill, fill in the space around before I have made a bunch of ex- you know, un- assumptions that you have to fight.

Um, I'm always trying to help my authors, and the books, I think the books that really stick with you are the books that work on second read, and on second read you go back and you go, "Oh, damn, this bitch was way smarter than I thought." And they've like, you know...

Again, Maggie Stiefvater, one of the characters tells you they're dead on page seven.

Like, you know, and you're like, "What? Ah!" And you're, it, you know, it's incredible.

So let's jump into those book recommendations for Team Jacob.

The first one is Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

It is a young adult paranormal romance about a teenage girl named Grace and a boy named Sam who transforms into a wolf during cold weather.

It reminds me of Twilight because of the obvious all-consuming high-stakes romance between the ordinary teenage girl and a dangerous supernatural boy.

That was Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.

Next up is Such Sharp Teeth by Rachel Harrison, which just so happens to be one of my favorite books to recommend to read during fall.

In this one, it's a contemporary horror comedy about a woman who turns into a werewolf after an animal attack in her hometown.
