Magenta

Magenta Creative Space is the only one of its kind in Nelson.

It's a fully resourced studio giving, uh, people a chance to try their hand at various art forms, and it's for those, uh, dealing with mental distress.

Uh, but it has been struggling to keep the doors open, and it's been fundraising to get through this year.

Rose McGrannagan is the strategic director of Magenta and is with me now.

Thank you for having me.

Now, can you just describe what the Magenta Creative Space is?

Then, a group of reprogrammed robots attacked you at the dance club.

And finally, the Anisite Protector Force shut all of Magenta down for the night, leaving you stranded in the middle of the city.

So now, what was supposed to be an evening of fun and celebration has ended up with a long walk through the streets of striving, deep, deep into the night.

Have you ever had moments like this? Maybe this is how I want to start this off.

That was so delightful.

And I think that this situation is kind of like that, where it's like you went to a show, you had a nice time until you got attacked and the cops shut the whole thing down.

You take this bus down from Magenta onto the streets of Striving.

Let's look at a map, shall we? I've got a Striving map up in here, don't I? But you took the bus.

You had been enjoying a night on the town until this happened.

Shlalamula, your short-term roommate here in the Megaplex of Striving, invited you to a comedy show and a dance club on Magenta, the illicit semi-legal gambling hall that circulates above the city at all hours.

Shortly after you got your drinks at Oomphs, the music-themed nightclub here, chaos struck.

A loud noise burst through the speakers and then three robots that look significantly more rudimentary than the antisites that called this city home turned towards you and opened fire.

Isn't this place 24

hours?

And Magenta gets completely shut down.

You get on autobuses that take you down to the surface.

Yeah.

So we're gonna pick this scene up then with the party once more arriving at Magenta, the large entertainment platform circling around the city.

Uh, you're, you're going here not to check out the casino as you were before, but for an evening of entertainment at a nightclub.

As you arrive at Magenta, Xalalimula turns to you and says, "I hope you don't mind, but before we go to the club, our passes include a comedy show at Magenta's theater.

I do so love comedy.

Would you come with me to this as well?"

There are, like, mirrors on the walls.

There are, uh, sofas arranged, like circular sofas in the middle of the floor.
