well hello everybody and welcome back to another episode of mage the ascension the victorian age here on dork tales this is book 3 episode 16 dinner with the prince uh i am your storyteller for tonight's session my name is kelly are you seeing him and we are back once again on the empress express or at least we're pretty nearby we're going to be picking up game right where we left off in the city of damascus it is 1890 cough cough um ambiguous time period uh sometime in the mid-1890s as we continue our progress along the empress express heading our way from the city of cairo all the way to bombay uh it's going to be a great time and nothing bad is going to happen to our characters tonight i'm very excited to see that nothing bad will happen to them but uh why don't we go ahead and check in with them make sure that everybody has all their their papers in order and so on so uh papers please christine

It's a great way to prevent political underwear advertisements from being on Dork Tales.

Although we're not really against political underwear advertisements if they want to pay us.

And then they also verified that Mage... sixth edition, which they didn't get a fifth edition, but the, you know, like, you know, Mage fifth edition, sixth edition, the new edition, a new edition of Mage the Ascension is going to be coming out at some point here.

It is on the roadmap.

It is the plan for them to come out with a new edition of Mage, which I am super excited about because I love reality bending.

I love the whole concept of what Mage is.

I love the whole like one of the things that just blows me away about mage is like it just kind of turns everything on its head where it's like the flat earthers are not so crazy anymore like i watch a lot of flat earth videos not because i believe in flat earth i don't i mean like we figured this out like three thousand fucking years ago dudes like there was a dude who was like if you look on the horizon boats go far enough away they go beyond the horizon and they dip down they they slowly go away like you're on a globe it's not that hard like literally like you don't need anything else just a philosopher in the year a.d or bc bc sorry in the year bc any of the years bc a philosopher looks at a man or a ship on the horizon and just disappears, and you're like, okay, the Earth is flat.

But, that said, in Mage, you're kind of an asshole for being like, the Earth is round.

It's like, well, I mean, is that like a technocratic thing? Is that something that's built upon? Although, if I was to put myself into Mage, I would be one of those people that'd be like, no, no, no, the Earth is round.

Years ago, gosh, 25 years ago [chuckles] God, I'm old.

Was playing Mage: The Ascension.

It was a role-playing game by the World of Darkness, White Wolf Publishing.

They're no longer in existence.

Uh-huh

... helped me to build a community and interact with people around the world, uh, such as yourself.

And I think I can trace it back to, uh, playing Mage: The Ascension in my 20s, and yeah, I never would've thought I'd be here 20-something years ago.
