Sharia courts recognized Islamic endowments weren't touched or taxed.

Madrasas were left open.

Religious holidays were acknowledged.

And The Germans wisely, they ruled through Muslim intermediaries and Islamic dignitaries.

Taliban is the puller.

So the center, the Madrasa, Taliban derives or sees its ideological affinity is based in India, you know, called Darul Rum Deoband.

So they were even given access to it.

Anyway, the point is this.

the entire mechanism of this regime? Can't touch it.

I argued for bombing the Madrasas and Homs.

Homs is the spiritual heart of Iran.

That's what needed to go.

Do you think this will be released?

I don't know how many more generations of trained and motivated terrorists have to have gone through the Madrasa mosque systems financed by Saudi Arabia.

How many more hundreds of millions of dollars of financial support for terrorists we have to tolerate before the American people knows the truth and the truth can then start to influence our policy towards Saudi Arabia.

I thought it was interesting to note in my conversations with other parents, the pressure our kids are under, the immense role of social media in the lives of our children.

And also the mental health aspect compounded by the fact that, of course, they're dealing with a lot of pressure in school, in Madrasa.

And how do we tackle this? How do we deal with this as parents? It was actually quite a candid discussion.

I was actually quite pleased with the discussion because it felt almost like everybody's in the same boat.

In fact, Alhamdulillah, we have Mulana Mutala from Greenside, Madrasa.

You know, we have this, my daughter is active in Madrasa and I've seen him being so proactive about sending out messages about, you know, the content that's out there.

And a lot of this was completely, I mean, I wouldn't say fine necessarily, but it has nothing to do with terrorism.

For example, if you're a poor Pakistani family and your son can go to Madrasa and that's his only option to get any sort of an education, you sent him, right? So things like that all around the Muslim world, funding a lot of services, funding schools, funding mosques that taught the Salafi or Wahhabi perspective.

Then in Afghanistan, combined with that, along with the United States, then they were also supporting the jihadis who were fighting against the Soviet Union.

And Osama bin Laden and many of the initial al-Qaeda members were part of that.

I think we would describe the situation as becoming more rigorous enforcement of what Himatullah, what was a so-called emir, wants and his vision for the future of Afghanistan.

One question that we have in our minds, which we're keen to try and understand, again, we've asked many states, is the role of some of the Madrasa building projects that he's enforcing.

Of course, in itself, that's not an issue, but...

There's been talk of so-called jihadi madrasas, and we're not quite sure exactly what that's involved or what the reporting line is or what the intention behind that is.
