Madoka Kaname

As per the afterword in volume one, Madoka Magica is the first book by Honokage, and the manga consists of entirely new drawings based on the original work.

The story follows Madoka Kaname, a middle school girl who is offered the opportunity to be a magic girl.

She will be given the powers and responsibilities to fight witches, evil beings of grief and despair, and in return she will be granted any wish she desires.

But as the story progresses, she and fellow girls Homura, Sayaka, Mami, and Kyoko will discover that being a magical girl is not all sunshine and rainbows and cute outfits.
