Are they feeling empowered by AI and technology, or confused and overwhelmed, or a little bit of both?
1:05
In some ways, there is this invigoration of, "Oh, there's all these tools out there.
1:11
A lot of them have free trials, all this kind of stuff.
1:13
I'm going to apply to 60 jobs a day with one click of these tools.
1:17
I'm going to rewrite my resume.
1:19
Ooh, that felt so much easier," all these types of things, um, which depends on the tool, depends on what you're doing, could just be something that feels good versus is actually improving your chances.
1:32
You can actually see probably from the statistics of what percentage of roles you're landing and the number of offers you're landing can paint a very clear picture of that.
2:20
And a lot of your content teaches candidates how to stand out, so has anything changed about what it means to stand out in, um, a job market that's relying more heavily on AI?
1:04
So are you seeing that and how does this trend sort of affect that trust dynamic as well?
1:10
So ghost job postings have been around for a long time and it's a little bit tough because the term ghost job posting can, behind the scenes, it means a lot of different things.
1:22
So you named one of the reasons is, okay, we want our company to appear as if it's growing, let's put up a bunch of job postings.
1:30
Yes, that is a reason why a ghost job posting would exist for sure.
1:35
Besides that, a ghost job posting could exist because it's kind of a high turnover role or it's a large team.
1:43
So they're thinking, we're probably going to have to hire for this role.
1:47
As soon as, you know, if we have a team of 50 people with the same job, one person resigns and we need to fill that seat, you know, the odds that one person, one out of 50 is going to resign in the next six months is probably fairly high.
3:41
But Madeline, unsurprisingly, disagrees.
3:45
There are people constantly scouring LinkedIn wanting to give you opportunities, wanting to, you know, have you come on their YouTube channel or, or wanting to give you your next job or wanting to have you be a, a lot of my, you know, my students have been expert witnesses in trials, like, really cool opportunities and because LinkedIn is a search engine.
4:07
And so you are missing out on sitting on your butt, watching TV, and having opportunities come to you without really any outbound effort.
4:45
You want it to be visible to the public, not just a subset or just your connections.
4:49
Your headline is effective in saying what you do currently, but I would love to see a few additional keywords.
4:56
Some keywords you could add is the industry you work in or maybe some, maybe journalism would be a word or, or something else that, uh, kind of pertains to what you do.
5:05
And then what I like to add at the end is a unique value.
5:10
Maybe it could be that you are the creator or the lead of this, this programming, right? Or something like that that's, that is really unique to you.
