We started that set off with Michael Prophet and One of Them from the album Rootsman, produced by the Mad Professor and his Ariwa record label.

And then the other problem with in that sense for this book was that it had a word limit it would be easy for me to expand on any of the chapters in this book and do a 10 volume set or whatever but obviously one of the things that dub teaches us is that what's left out is as important as what's left in so you know i didn't want it to be exhaustive and exhausting even if i'm trying to tell as much of the tale as i can You know, the book also leaves Jamaica because of course, Dubb traveled first with the diaspora.

I got to interview many important figures here, many times here in the UK, Adrian Sherwood, Dennis Bovell, Mad Professor.

One that declined to be interviewed, which is, yeah, a little bit of a shame on my end, is Mark Lussardi, who played an important role, somewhat overlooked.

I'm not sure why he opted out, but fair enough.

It was like it really opened up my writing to a whole another level.

Going back to Tessera and Tessera Dub, it brought together artists like Zafaya and the Skanken Monks and Mad Professor and again, Sly and Robbie.

Do you approach collaborations differently now that you did all this early in your career?

My overall approach is different right now.

This week's guest is founder of Arewa Sound, dub music producer, engineer and remixer, citing collaborations with reggae artists Lee Scratch Perry, Sly and Robbie, Horace Andy, Pata Banton and Jazz Shaka amongst many others, as well as countless remixes.
